Dice Roller
Roll polyhedral dice for D&D, board games, or any tabletop RPG. Customize die types, quantities, and modifiers.
🎯 Popular Use Cases
From tabletop RPGs to classroom stats, dice show up everywhere. Roll for initiative in D&D, assign random tasks to teammates, simulate probability experiments, or settle any dispute with a fair roll.
🎲 How to Roll
Select a die type (d4 through d100), choose how many dice to roll, and click Roll Dice. Use Quick Presets for common RPG rolls. The Drop Lowest toggle is useful for D&D ability scores (4d6 drop lowest). Add modifiers for skill bonuses.
📊 Probability Explained
Each die roll is an independent, uniform random outcome. A d6 has an average of 3.5, and a d20 averages 10.5. Multiple dice create a bell curve distribution—2d6 peaks at 7, while a single d12 is flat. Rolling more dice reduces variance.
⚔️ RPG Guide
D&D and Pathfinder: d4 (daggers), d6 (swords/spells), d8 (longswords), d10 (heavy weapons), d12 (greataxes), d20 (attack/saves). GURPS and other systems may use d6s or d10s. Check your rulebook for specific dice.
